Getting started
What is SignalDraft?
SignalDraft is catalog and proposal software for AV and systems integrators. It reads vendor price sheets, automatically classifies the columns (SKU, cost, MSRP, category, manufacturer, and more), and keeps that data in one clean catalog you can turn into priced, client-ready proposals.
How do I get started? Is there a free trial?
Yes — start a 14-day free trial anytime at signaldraft.app/start-trial, no waiting on an invite. As a founding member you'll lock in $25/user/month for your first 25 users, for life ($39/user beyond that).
Where do I log in once I have an account?
Existing organizations log in at studio.signaldraft.app. Don't have an account yet? Start your free trial to create one.
What do I need to get started?
Nothing to install — SignalDraft runs in a modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox). To get the most out of onboarding, have one or two vendor price sheets (Excel or CSV) handy so we can set up your first import together.
Importing & catalog
What file formats can I import?
SignalDraft imports vendor price sheets as .xlsx, .xls, or .csv files. Multi-sheet workbooks are supported — you'll choose which sheet to import.
How does smart column classification work?
When you import a price sheet, SignalDraft analyzes the header row and sample values to identify which columns are SKU, description, cost, MSRP, category, and manufacturer — even when headers are abbreviated, year-prefixed, or vendor-specific. You'll see a preview with the suggested mapping before anything is added to your catalog.
What if a column is classified incorrectly?
You can correct any column mapping in the import preview before committing the import — nothing is added to your catalog until you confirm it. Corrections don't affect future imports from other vendors.
How are vendors, manufacturers, and customers organized?
Vendors, customers, and your product catalog each live in their own dedicated area, so you can keep price sheets, contacts, and projects organized without duplicating data.
Proposals & pricing
Can I include labor alongside hardware?
Yes. Labor rates are set up by role and can be added to any proposal alongside catalog line items, so hardware and installation labor are priced together.
What are bundles?
Bundles group products (and labor) you quote together often — like a standard conference room package — into a single reusable template you can drop into any proposal.
Can I see margin while I'm building a proposal?
Yes — margin updates in real time as you add line items, labor, and markup, so you can see the impact before the proposal ever goes to a client.
Can I create a new version of a proposal without losing the old one?
Yes. Creating a new version of a project keeps the full history — earlier versions stay accessible, and you can switch between versions from the project view at any time.
Managing projects
Can my team comment on line items together?
Yes — comment directly on any line item or bundle to discuss pricing, swaps, or open questions. Threads stay attached to that item so context never gets lost, and you can resolve a thread once it's settled.
Can I generate a purchase list for my distributors?
Yes. The Procurement tab consolidates everything that needs to be ordered into one list, automatically merging duplicate parts even when they're used in different rooms or systems. Group it by room, system, or vendor, then export straight to PDF — labor and owner-furnished items are excluded, since those aren't things you'd order from a distributor.
Can I see where every project stands?
Yes. The dashboard tracks every project's stage using your own custom statuses — from lead to won to closed out — and can break projects down by pipeline stage or by vertical.
Sharing & access
How do clients see my proposal?
Three ways: export a PDF, present it full-screen in person, or turn on Client Sharing for a public link your client can open on their own — no login needed. The link always reflects your latest pricing and content, and you can optionally add a password as a light extra step before it loads. Cost, margin, vendor names, and internal notes are never included in what a client sees.
Can I customize how a proposal looks?
Yes — the proposal page editor lets you arrange pages and content so the client-facing document matches how your team presents pricing.
Can I keep a project private from parts of my team?
Yes — mark any project private and choose exactly who can see it, either by granting specific teammates access or by vertical.
Can I control which teammates access management and admin areas?
Yes. Granular permissions let you decide exactly which teammates can access management and administration areas, down to individual sub-tabs.
How do I add teammates to my organization?
An admin can add a teammate under Administration → Users, which sends them an email to set their own password. From there, set exactly which areas they can access — Projects, Management, and Administration — independently for each person.
Account & security
Is my data secure?
Your organization's data is isolated from every other organization and protected by granular, per-user access controls. Data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest.
Do you support two-factor authentication or single sign-on?
Yes. You can enable two-factor authentication (authenticator app or SMS) on your own account, and organizations can require it for everyone. Signing in with Google is also supported.
How is SignalDraft priced?
One plan — that's it. Every feature is included no matter your team size, nothing locked behind a higher tier. As a founding member, it's $25/user/month for your first 25 users, locked in for life ($39/user/month beyond that), with a 14-day free trial to start. We're early in development, and founding members get a direct hand in shaping what we build next. Start yours.
Can I export my catalog or proposal data?
Proposals can be exported as client-ready documents, including a dedicated procurement PDF. If you need a bulk export of your catalog or account data, contact support and we'll help.
